Thought I'd create a blog as a creative outlet. I'm a stay at home mom to two wonderful boys (ages 10 and 7) and I started my Etsy shop (www.abackyardcreation.etsy.com) back in 2010 as a hobby. It all started when our tree in the front yard started dropping these beautiful rosette pinecones. I could use them in decor, and crafts, and….hey, I could sell some of these little cuties! So my shop began….it expanded to include vintage and revived home decor with a mix of shabby, cottage and farm / rustic / country flare.
I enjoy perusing the blogs of so many talented people and it sparks my creative side. Because I am one of many, many people who find joy in thrifting and shabby-chic(ing), I figured I would share some of my experiences.
My latest creations are bird feeder / bird stands made out of teacups AND plate flowers to display in your yard or garden. I had so much fun looking through thrift stores for different colors and shapes of glassware that would resemble a flower. I used E6000 glue and JB Weld for a maximum hold and it's weatherproof.
They're currently for sale at a local shop but I may also list them on Etsy soon.
